Small retreat centers and hermitages are located all over the country usually next to temples and monasteries, where the serenity and beauty of nature can be appreciated in undisturbed silence. This itinerary brings ample of time for meditation and one can visualize their inner self and meditate upon the purpose of life.

Outline Itinerary ( 5 Days 4 Nights )

Day 1: Arrive at Paro
Day 2: Hike to Taktshang
Day 3: Paro – Thimphu
Day 4: Thimphu (Meditation at Chari Monastery)
Day 5: Thimphu – Paro (Departure)
Day 1: Arrive at Paro
At the airport, you will be received by our representative and then be driven straight to Kyichu temple to receive blessing and good luck for the pilgrimage ahead. The Kyichu Temple is one of the 108 temples built in the 7th century by King Songtsen Gampo of Tibet. After lunch, visit Drak Karpo (white rocky cliff) of Guru Rinpoche meditation cave and you will meditate. Overnight in Paro.
Day 2: Hike to Taktshang
After breakfast, we will hike to Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) monastery and meditate with the monks. This place is especially venerated because of its association with Guru Rinpoche, who is said to have flown to this place in the form of Guru Dorji Drolo, mounted on a flaming dakini-tigress in the 8th century. We will also pay homage to the temple of Machig Labdron and Phadampa Sangay temple nearby the Tiger’s Nest Monastery. Overnight in Paro.
Day 3: Paro – Thimphu
In the morning we will have some sightseeing in Thimphu. It includes, the National Memorial Chorten depicting the Buddhist faith in the form of paintings and statues, giant Buddha statue, reputed to be the largest Buddha Shakyamuni in the world. If you wish you could meditate in these places as many people worship every day for good health and long life. After lunch, drive to Simtokha Dzong for meditation. This dzong is first of its kind built by Zhabdrung in 1629 and still monks used this place for meditation. Overnight in Thimphu.
Day 4: Thimphu (Meditation at Chari Monastery)
After breakfast drive to the north of Thimphu for 45 minutes and hike to Cheri goemba. Cheri monastery is the first temple built by Zhabdrung and this place is used by monks and practitioners for meditation. After completing the 9 years Buddhist studies, monks they come to this place to complete the mediation tenure for 3 years, 3 months, 3 weeks and 3 days. Overnight in Thimphu.
Day 5: Thimphu – Paro (Departure)
After breakfast drive to Paro airport (one hour) for your onward flight destination.
