Bhutan is epitome of superlatives: popularly known as the land of Gross National Happiness, the last Shangrila or often times called as the only carbon negative country worldwide. A tiny Kingdom (38,394 sq.km) between the two giants: India and China, Bhutan had opened its door to modernization in the 1960s. Also referred to as The Land of Thunder Dragon, the country started tourism in 1974 with only 284 visitors after which the number has increased drastically until recent years.
